The leading partner in the project, the City of Zrenjanin and other partners: the Regional Center for Socio-Economic Development - Banat, the City of Timisoara and the Sustainable Energy Cluster of Romania - ROSENC, are working on a large number of activities that this project involves. A Master Plan for Sustainable Energy for the territory of the Central Banat District is being drafted, a document that will include Zrenjanin and the territory of Central Banat among the few that have it, and which is the basis for further development of this territory in the field of planning and managing energy-saving actions. energy, as well as the possibility of absorbing funds from international funds.

Another important activity is underway and includes conducting research and collecting data on the energy efficiency of public buildings. This activity was preceded by the procurement of the most modern equipment for thermal imaging, drones and thermal imaging cameras of the latest generation. Thanks to this type of equipment, in a very short time, we will have the most accurate data on the state of energy efficiency of public and other facilities in the territory of the City of Zrenjanin.

Pilot actions have been started in three high schools on the territory of Zrenjanin (Zrenjanin High School, School of Economics and Trade Jovan Trajković and Technical School), which include testing the air quality and measuring energy consumption in these schools. By cross-analyzing the obtained data, we will be able to see how these two things affect each other, what are the energy properties of the buildings of these high schools and what kind of air our high school students breathe, ie how the current situation can be improved.

In the following period, the project will include a series of trainings for various target groups, the continuation of pilot actions and the establishment of a system for intelligent monitoring of energy consumption in schools. As the most important activity, the project envisages the construction of the first smart building in Banat and the establishment of the Regional Center for Energy Efficiency - Banat in Zrenjanin. In that way, the SASEC project lays the foundations for future activities and new projects, and puts the City of Zrenjanin and the entire region in the position of a leader in this area.
